Anna Celander, LCPC, ATR
Board Member, Fundraiser Committee Member
Anna Celander (she/her), a Chicago native, is a mixed-medium artist and professional art therapist who has lived and worked in: Durham, North Carolina; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Chicago, Illinois. Wherever Anna is, she gains inspiration from her surroundings.
Upon moving to Durham in 2021, the spectacular energy of the triangle has been the subject of her work. Growing up in the Chicago area, Anna also uses the city as her inspiration, interpreting iconic landmarks in her unique style using charcoal and watered-down acrylic paint.
She naturally found ways to create a supportive space for others growing up, but it wasn’t until college that she realized she could combine her passion for art making and curiosity regarding the human experience. Once she stumbled on the professional path towards art therapy, she has never looked back.
Anna attended Bradley University for her undergraduate studies where she majored in Art Therapy and Fine Art. She then went on to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) for her Master’s in Art Therapy. She has attained professional credentialing in Illinois and North Carolina for both Art Therapy and Professional Counseling.
For Anna, stumbling upon Art for All was fate. She considers this opportunity to connect to the community through art making a true gift and is excited to expand access to art making.
